Friday, September 25: Opening Reception for Save This Piece curated by Marshall- based artist Lauren Rutten
The first major public presentation of an ongoing photographic and community-engaged project that emerged in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene’s historic flooding of Marshall. Large-scale photographs alongside writings contributed by more than 150 members of the local community. Created during the first months of recovery, the photographs focus not on the destruction itself but on what the flood left behind: traces of silt, rust, mud, and altered surfaces throughout downtown Marshall. On display through November 14
Wednesday, September 16: Film Screening My Journey into Bhutan and Nepal by Kris Cassidy, Two twenty-minute films of his recent pilgrimage to Bhutan and Nepal. The films focus on the sacred sites, temples, monasteries and mountains in both countries interspersed with depictions of the landscapes, the culture and daily life
Sip and Screen with Sara Jane Saturday, September 26 5-7pm, ‘make and take’ class learning the basics of silkscreen printing — no experience necessary! First beverage on us! Want to print something of your own? Bring a blank shirt, hoodie, tote, or other light-colored fabric item from home

~Volunteers The Fall season is Arts season in Madison County and the Madison
County Arts Council seeks volunteers for our gallery exhibitions, concerts, gatherings

~The Madison County Arts Council is an ambassador, an advocate for the arts in
Madison County and beyond. We champion the arts by hosting gallery exhibitions, and
concerts, including the popular Bluff Festival in Hot Springs. We organize educational
programs for youth and adults. Advocate for artists and strengthen our community

~Rotary Club Donation-Rotary Clubs of Asheville and Madison County teamed up to
donate $4,000 to the Madison County Arts Council after the building required significant
repairs following damage from Tropical Storm Helene. The Rotary Clubs of Asheville
and Madison County are establishing a backup broadcast studio at A-B Tech Madison
campus. The project will help WARTFM remain on the air with local news, emergency
alerts, recovery; information and community updates if its primary downtown Marshall
studio is disrupted by another disaster. Thank you Rotary Club!
